IPL 2026 After Week 1: Who's Hot and Who's Not
Half the Teams Unbeaten, Half Winless
Week 1 of IPL 2026 has been dramatic. After 11 matches, there's a clear divide: four teams are unbeaten and four are yet to win a single game. Here's your complete team-by-team analysis.
🔥 HOT — The Unbeaten Teams
1. Punjab Kings (3-0) — The Team to Beat
PBKS have been the standout team. Three wins from three, Cooper Connolly leading the Orange Cap race with 108 runs, and Shreyas Iyer's captaincy has been superb. Wins over GT, KKR and CSK show all-round strength.
2. Delhi Capitals (2-0) — Rizvi's Explosion
\p>Sameer Rizvi's 90 against MI was one of the innings of the tournament. DC look balanced with Axar Patel's all-round ability and a dangerous batting lineup.
3. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (2-0) — Kohli's Machine
RCB posted 250/3 against CSK — the highest total of IPL 2026. Virat Kohli (69* vs SRH) is chasing 9000 career runs. Rajat Patidar's captaincy has been impressive.
4. Rajasthan Royals (2-0) — Clinical Performers
RR have been clinical. Wins over MI and GT show their depth. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson have been in good form.
❌ NOT — The Winless Teams
5. Chennai Super Kings (0-3) — Crisis Mode
CSK's worst start in IPL history. MS Dhoni's farewell season is going horribly wrong. Sanju Samson's batting position has been questioned, and the bowling looks thin. They MUST beat KKR on April 8.
6. Kolkata Knight Riders (0-2) — Green's Burden
₹25.20 crore signing Cameron Green has failed to deliver. He walked out of an interview when asked about his form. KKR need him to fire, and fast.
7. Gujarat Titans (0-2) — No Luck
Close losses to PBKS (by 5 wickets) and RR (by 6 runs) show GT are competitive but can't close out games. Shubman Gill needs support.
8. Mumbai Indians (0-2) — Hardik Dropped
The biggest shock: Hardik Pandya was dropped for the DC match. MI look rudderless without a settled captain. Suryakumar Yadav led as stand-in but couldn't prevent defeat.
